Appleton Wis.--- Lawrence University women's lacrosse capped its season on a high note Wednesday night, earning an 8-4 victory over Marian in its season finale.
The Vikings set the tone early, jumping out to a 2-0 lead in the opening quarter and maintaining control throughout the contest. A strong second period helped Lawrence build a 5-2 halftime advantage before the Vikings sealed the win with a composed fourth-quarter effort.
Savannah Larsen led the offensive charge with four goals and an assist, pacing a balanced Lawrence attack. Emma Perry added a hat trick, including a late goal in the fourth quarter, while Annika Solberg contributed a key first-quarter score.
Lawrence took advantage of its opportunities, converting on free-position chances and finishing a perfect 8-for-8 on clears to control possession and tempo.
Defensively, the Vikings held firm behind Emma Berg, who recorded seven saves. The Lawrence defense limited Marian to just four goals and one goal in each quarter, delivering a steady performance from start to finish.
The victory provides a strong finish for the Vikings on a season full of growth. A special thank you to graduating seniors Dejah Phillips, Emma Moya, Emma Perry, Sophia Labrecque, and Sophie Morey for their leadership and hard work throughout their careers on the field.
