Appleton, Wisconsin — Lawrence University women's lacrosse battled early but was unable to keep pace with a high-powered Concordia Wisconsin offense, falling 16–5 Wednesday evening at the Banta Bowl.
The Vikings showed flashes throughout, particularly in the draw circle and in stretches of second-half play, but Concordia used a strong first half and a late fourth-quarter surge to pull away.
Concordia struck quickly, building a 4–1 lead in the opening quarter before extending the margin to 7–2 by halftime. Lawrence's first goal came on a man-up opportunity as Annika Solberg finished off a feed from Mackenzie Igel-Harri to get the Vikings on the board.
Bella Krull-Collins sparked the Lawrence attack, scoring twice and adding an assist to lead the team offensively. Sarah Dobrzynski, Emma Perry, and Solberg each added a goal as the Vikings accounted for five total scores.
Lawrence showed its best push in the third quarter, generating 11 shots and finding the net once to cut into the deficit. The Vikings also controlled key possessions at the draw, winning 14 draw controls compared to Concordia's eight.
Defensively, Lawrence goalkeepers combined for 13 saves, highlighted by a strong effort from Emma Berg, who recorded 10 stops in the second half.
Despite the momentum swings, Concordia's offense proved too much down the stretch, closing the game with a dominant fourth quarter to secure the 16–5 win.
