What Being a Viking Means to Me:
It is hard for me to capture what it means to be a Viking. While I was a student, I think it meant striving to be a scholar-athlete through balancing rigorous academics and athletics. It was also knowing that a team of people had my back and I had theirs. Since graduation, I reflect on how being a Viking means that you are asked to do more than many of your other classmates. You must manage training schedules while also getting into the ebb and flow of an intense academic calendar. You are asked to hold an extra set of priorities that others do not have as part of their daily lives. While this can be challenging, it is also something special and meaningful. It sets you up with lifelong friendships and skills you will use on a daily basis to manage the many things life throws at you.
