    Brian Garavaglia is a familar face to Lawrence University hockey fans.
    Garavaglia spent five seasons coaching the goaltenders for the Lawrence men's hockey team and is now lending his knowledge to netminders for the women's squad.
    Garavaglia worked with the men's program from 2010-15 and coached standouts such as Evan Johnson, Mattias Soderqvist and Peter Emery with the Vikings. Before working with the Lawrence men's program, Garavaglia spent a decade specializing in coaching youth goaltenders. He coached in the Marquette Junior Hockey Association in Michigan's Upper Peninsula for four years and spent six seasons coaching in the Appleton Area Hockey Association. He has coach goalies of all ages and skill levels and had teams collect multiple championships.
    Garavaglia played collegiately at Northern Michigan University in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association and graduated in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in marketing. Prior to playing for Northern Michigan, Garavaglia was the starting goalie for Lapeer West High School in Lapeer, Mich., and set multiple school records.
