Eli Freyre de Andrade captured the saber championship at the Central Collegiate Fencing Conference Championships. The first-year from Denver, Colo., defeated Ohio State's Luca Fioretto 15-14 in the championship bout. Freyre de Andrade knocked off Ohio State's Hank Bauer and teammate Aaron Reese to reach the title bout. Freyre de Andrade finished with a 12-3 record on the day.
