Kala Velasco was an event winner for Lawrence at the Viking Twilight, the first meet on the renovated Whiting Field. The first-year athlete from Anahola, Hawaii, raced to victory in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 15.74 seconds. That time is the second-fastest in the Midwest Conference this season.
