Cristyn Oliver broke a Lawrence track record that had stood since the early 1980s and posted the second-fastest time in the Midwest Conference. Competing in the Fox River Showdown at Lawrence's Whiting Field, the senior from Redondo Beach, Calif., raced to a time of 4:45.11 to break the record of 4:45.14, which was set by Lawrence Hall of Famer Julie Wick in 1983.
