Maya Alberts led Lawrence's defense in a 2-0 road victory against traditional power UW-Whitewater. A senior defender from Madison, Wis., Alberts also was chosen as Midwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week. She spearheaded a defense that allowed only four shots on goal, and Alberts scored in the 29th minute to provide a critical insurance goal.
