Zach Meyer broke a 23-year-old Lawrence record in the 800 meters at the Dick Hendricks Invitational. The first-year runner from St. Joseph, Minn., finished second after a tight battle with Marquette's Charlie McCurdy. Meyer's time of 1:55.79 broke the school record of 1:56.09 set by Don Smith in 2002.
