River Falls edges Vikings

RIVER FALLS, Wis. -- The UW-River Falls hockey team scored the game's final three goals Saturday and topped Lawrence University 4-1 in a nonconference game at Hunt Arena.

The game was tied 1-1 after one period, but the Falcons (4-8-1) scored twice in the second period to take control and then added another tally in the third.

Lawrence's Zach Satalino scored his first career short-handed goal with 2:37 left in the first period to tie the game at 1-1.

Jessie Brown scored at the midway point of the second period to put the Falcons up 2-1, and Eddie Matsushima scored on the power play with 32 seconds left in the period for a 3-1 advantage. 

River Falls was 1-for-2 on the power play, and Lawrence (5-7-1) was 0-for-3.

River Falls' Cayden Cahill added a goal 6:21 into the third period for the final margin.

Michael Hughes made 19 saves for River Falls to pick up the win. Lawrence's Evan Cline stopped 39 shots.
