Box Score DE PERE, Wis. -- The St. Norbert College men's basketball team pulled away late in the first half Wednesday and went on to an 85-52 Midwest Conference win over Lawrence University at the Mulva Family Fitness and Sports Center.
Taylor Penn scored 14 points and Mitchell Reinthaler added 12 as the Green Knights (14-4, 9-2 MWC) shot 56.1 percent from the floor.
Mason Materna came off the bench to pace Lawrence (10-7, 6-5) with 15 points in just 12 minutes of action. Materna hit 6-of-8 shots from the floor, including 3-of-4 from three-point range.
Lawrence got off to a slow start but a jumper from Bryce Denham and Quinn Fisher's three-point play trimmed St. Norbert's lead to 25-17 with 4:23 left in the opening half.
St. Norbert responded by going on a 15-6 run to close out the half, and the Green Knights led 40-23 at the break.
Lawrence's Dylan Hamlin made the first basket of the second half to cut the lead to 15, but the Green Knights steadily pulled away from that point.
