Green Knights pull away in second half to top Lawrence

Box Score

APPLETON, Wis. -- The St. Norbert College women's soccer team scored a pair of second-half goals Wednesday and pulled away for a 4-1 Midwest Conference victory over Lawrence University on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.

Dana Schwab collected a hat trick for St. Norbert (2-6-0, 1-0-0 MWC), which didn't pull away until the final 25 minutes.

Schwab and Hannah Lech scored in the first 28 minutes to stake the Green Knights to a 2-0 lead. Rookie Wakana Komura scored her first career goal for Lawrence (0-7-0, 0-1-0) at the 30:06 mark when she broke free down the right side and rifled a ball past St. Norbert goalkeeper Ally Magiera and into the corner of the net.

That cut St. Norbert's lead to 2-1 and the scored stayed that way until midway through the second half.

Schwab scored again off a pass from Morgan Edge at the 65:34 mark, and the Green Knights sealed the win on Schwab's goal with less than eight minutes left.

Magiera made two saves to pick up the win for St. Norbert. Lawrence goalkeeper Claire Vinopal stopped 20 shots for the Vikings.
