Carleton survives Lawrence block party

APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University volleyball team put up some big blocking numbers Saturday, but Carleton College rallied for a 3-1 victory at the Associated Colleges of the Midwest Tournament.

Carleton posted a 16-25, 25-21, 25-16, 25-17 victory over the Vikings at Alexander Gymnasium.

Lawrence picked up 26 block assists with rookie Sophia Galassini piling up 11. Galassini also had seven kills in the match.

Arianna Neumeyer paced the Vikings with 13 kills, and she had five blocks and 11 digs. Ashley Camling collected 19 assists, and Katie Kumbalek had a team-high 18 digs for the Vikings.

Faith Skinner paced Carleton with 16 kills, and Celeste Chen had a match-high 21 digs. Inger Shelton posted 23 assists for the Knights.
