Lawrence falls to Foresters

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The Lawrence University men's basketball team saw Lake Forest College pull away in the final eight minutes Tuesday en route to an 85-63 Midwest Conference win over the Vikings at the Sports and Recreation Center.

Brad Sendell led Lawrence (8-7, 5-3 MWC) and all scorers with 23 points as he hit 8-of-13 shots from the floor, including 2-of-3 from 3-point range. Bryce Denham added a double-double for the Vikings with 12 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.

Sean Espinosa led Lake Forest (9-5, 5-2) with 22 points as four Foresters scored in double figures. Lake Forest connected on 11-of-22 shots from beyond the arc.

The game was tight for more than 30 minutes before the Foresters pulled away. The game was tied at the half before Lake Forest slowly built a nine-point lead in the second half.

The Foresters were up 61-54 after Denham's layup with just over eight minutes remaining. Lake Forest went on an 13-2 run after that to build a 74-56 edge, and Lawrence didn't get closer than 15 points after that.
