Box Score GENEVA, Ill. -- Lawrence University dropped a 6-0 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association decision Friday night to Aurora University at Fox Valley Ice Arena.
The game was scoreless until late in the first period when Aurora scored twice in a span of 38 seconds to grab the lead for good.
Riley Doyon and Dylan Rauh scored at 18:14 and 18:52, respectively, to give the Spartans a 2-0 lead after the first. Doyon then scored again just 37 seconds into the second period to push the advantage to 3-0.
The Spartans added three more goals in the second for the final margin.
Aurora posted a 26-16 edge in shots on goal. The Spartans had a pair of power-play goals in 10 chances and picked up a short-hander. Lawrence went 0-for-5 on the power play.
Josh Boyko made 16 saves to earn the shutout. Lawrence's Evan Cline allowed all six goals and made 11 saves. Alex Mosquera played the final 23:24 for the Vikings and stopped all nine shots he faced.
