Lawrence edged by Gusties in OT

APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University hockey team rallied from a two-goal deficit to force overtime on Saturday, but Gustavus Adolphus College scored early in overtime to grab a 4-3 nonconference victory at the Appleton Family Ice Center.

Tyler Rock scored 39 seconds into the overtime to give Gustavus (2-0-0) the victory.

Lawrence (0-2-0) opened the scoring just 3:26 into the game when rookie Ivan Galaguzov got his first collegiate goal off an assist by Jake Drinkard. Gustavus then scored the game's next three goals and led 3-1 early in the second period.

Vincent Dekumbis sliced into the lead when he scored for the Vikings on the power play at the 11:04 mark of the second period as Drinkard and Jordan Boehlke picked up assists. Lawrence finished 1-for-6 on the power play, and Gustavus was 2-for-7.

Lawrence was on the penalty kill when Drinkard scored a short-handed goal with 5:32 left in the third period to tie the game at 3-3. Drinkard finished with a goal and two assists.

Lawrence rookie Brian Tallieu made 30 saves for the Vikings, and Filip Grancarov stopped 23 shots for Gustavus.
