Big first half too much to overcome for Vikings

OSHKOSH, Wis. -- A big first half proved too much to overcome for the Lawrence University men's basketball team Sunday in a 92-66 nonconference loss to UW-Oshkosh at Kolf Sports Center.

Oshkosh (4-2) shot out to a 48-24 lead at the half and held that margin throughout most of the second half. Lawrence trimmed the lead to 21 points early in the second half but couldn't get any closer.

Bryce Denham led Lawrence (2-1) and all scorers with 21 points as he hit 9-of-14 shots from the floor. Mason Materna added 11 points, and Sawyer Schlindwein had 10 for the Vikings.

Brad Sendell added nine points and four steals, and Brandon Danowski had a team-high seven rebounds for Lawrence.

Connor Duax paced Oshkosh with 17 points and a game-high eight rebounds. Oshkosh shot 53.2 percent from the floor and limited Lawrence to 42.6 percent.
