Vikings edged by Finlandia

Box Score

HANCOCK, Mich. -- The Lawrence University women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 morning decision Saturday at Finlandia University.

Forced to play at 9 a.m. Central time due a conflict with McAfee Field, the Vikings trailed 2-0 early in the second half.

Finlandia scored off a corner kick in the 35th minute and then made it 2-0 on a goal just 1:39 into the second half.

Lawrence cut the lead in half when Natalya Harp scored off a pass from Quinn Bingham at the 74:42 mark. That's as close as the Vikings would get as Finlandia hung on for the win.

Samantha Linteo made two saves to pick up the win, and Sarah Yochem collected eight saves and took the loss.
