Hudyma's OT goal lifts Vikings past Illinois College

Box Score

APPLETON, Wis. -- Adrianna Hudyma's first career goal lifted the Lawrence University women's soccer team to a 1-0 overtime victory over Illinois College in a Midwest Conference game Saturday on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.

The Vikings (6-3-0, 1-0-0 MWC) dominated the contest but couldn't get on the scoreboard. Lawrence enjoyed a 29-3 edge in shots over the Lady Blues (5-4-0, 0-1-0).

Closing in on the final minute of the first 10-minute overtime, the Vikings played the ball down the far sideline. Jackie Blake played the ball into the box, and Hudyma hit a one-timer past Illinois College goalkeeper Charlotte Crofton to give Lawrence the victory.

It was the first career goal for Hudyma, and the tally gave Lawrence its first conference win since a 5-0 victory over Ripon College on Oct. 22, 2015.

Lawrence goalkeeper Sarah Yochem made two saves to earn the shutout. Crofton stopped 18 shots for Illinois College.
