GREEN LAKE, Wis. -- The Lawrence University cross country teams dominated the Midwest Conference Championships on Saturday, and the Vikings also claimed multiple league awards to go with two conference titles.
  Lawrence walked away with nine different awards on Saturday with the biggest prizes being the men's and women's team titles.Â

Cristyn Oliver won the women's individual title in dominating fashion with a time of 22:30.72. Oliver also claimed the Newcomer of the Year award after putting together a stellar rookie season of cross country. Oliver has won four races this season and was a five-time Midwest Conference Performer of the Week.

Collin Beyer was the men's Newcomer of the Year after he finished third at the conference championships in 26:15.44. Beyer was a race winner during the season and was a two-time conference Performer of the Week.
  The Lawrence coaches, head coach
Jason Fast and assistant coaches
Shelby Baldwin and
Max Edwards, were honored as Coaching Staff of the Year for both the men and women.
  Lawrence also claimed both Elite 20 awards, which are given to the student-athlete with the highest grade point average competing at the championships.
  On the women's side, junior
Madeline Taylor of Ames, Iowa, was the Elite 20 winner. Taylor has a 4.0 grade point average while majoring in environmental studies and English with a minor in geoscience.
  Lawrence also claimed the men's Elite 20 award with sophomore
Adam Bruce. The native of Gladstone, Mich., also has a 4.0 grade point average and is majoring in biology with a statistics and data science minor.
