ASHLAND, Wis. --
Adnan Sarancic came off the bench to score 19 points Saturday and led the Lawrence University men's basketball team to an 81-66 nonconference win over Northland College.
  It also was the first collegiate coaching victory for Lawrence first-year head coach
Casey Korn.
  Sarancic went 9-for-12 from the floor and pulled down eight rebounds for the Vikings (1-2).
Brad Sendell had a big game for the Vikings with 18 points, nine assists, four rebounds and three steals.Â

Matthew Kaznikov added 11 points for Lawrence, and
Elliot Jung had 10 points.
  Lawrence built a 42-34 lead at the half, but the Lumberjacks scored the first nine points of the second half to grab a 43-42 advantage. Kaznikov then buried a 3-pointer for the Vikings to start an 11-3 run. Sendell scored seven consecutive points during that stretch as the Vikings snatched a 53-45 lead with 11:27 remaining.
    George Butvilas, who led Northland (0-4) with 19 points, countered with a 3-pointer for the Lumberjacks. Sarancic followed with a layup, and Kyle Lilliwitz drained a 3-pointer to push Lawrence's lead to 58-48.
  Northland cut the lead back to 60-56, but Sendell hit a 3-pointer and followed that with a layup to give Lawrence a 65-56 lead with 5:51 left. Lawrence built the lead to as many as 16 points before claiming the final margin of 15.
  Lawrence returns home to face UW-Oshkosh on Wednesday.
