Vikings nipped by St. Norbert

APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University rallied from deficits three times on Saturday night, but the Vikings couldn't come up with a fourth and fell 4-3 to St. Norbert College in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at the Appleton Ice Center.
The Vikings trailed by a goal three different times, but rallied to tie the game all three times before St. Norbert got what proved to be the game-winning goal midway through the final period.
Ivan Galaguzov and Will Robertson both had a goal and an assist for the Vikings, and Kyle Gierman assisted on all three goals for Lawrence (2-3-0, 0-2-0 NCHA).
Lawrence trailed 1-0 early in the opening period, but Galaguzov scored on the power play off assists from Gierman and Zack Olen at the 15:12 mark to tie it.
St. Norbert scored at the 1:08 mark of the second period to grab the lead back, but Tyler Jensen scored for the Vikings at the 9:18 mark to tie the game at 2-2 with Gierman and Robertson picking up assists.
The Green Knights pulled ahead 3-2 at the 3:38 mark of the third, but that lead didn't last long. Robertson scored on the power play at the 5:17 mark to tie it at 3-3 as Gierman and Galaguzov both picking up assists.
Peyton Frantti scored for St. Norbert at the 9:23 mark of the third to give St. Norbert the lead for good. Lawrence had several good scoring chances in the final minutes, and pulled goaltender Brian Tallieu for the final 1:04 but couldn't get the equalizer.
Tallieu finished with 23 saves for the Vikings, and Johnny Roberts had 22 for St. Norbert.
Lawrence went 2-for-5 on the power play, and the Green Knights were 0-for-4.
