WAUKESHA, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's basketball team started slow Thursday, and Carroll University pulled away early for a 77-45 nonconference win at Van Male Fieldhouse.
  Carroll led 19-4 after the first quarter, and the Pioneers led 38-16 at the half.Â

Kenya Earl led Lawrence (2-2) with 18 points as she went 6-for-10 from the floor, including 2-for-3 from 3-point range, and picked up three rebounds and two assists.Â

Maggie Culver added nine points and seven rebounds for the Vikings, and
Caroline Sharpe also pulled down seven boards.
Ashley Batac chipped in with six points and a game-high five assists for Lawrence.
  Theresa Wichser, Katie Rohner and Natalie Paltzkill had 14 points for the unbeaten Pioneers (4-0).
  Carroll kept Lawrence at arm's length in the third quarter as the Vikings couldn't get any closer than 20 points. The Pioneers pulled away again in the fourth quarter and led by as many as 36 points.
  Lawrence doesn't return to action until Nov. 27 when the Vikings travel to Lakeland University.
