MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's basketball team used a balanced attack Tuesday to post a 59-43 nonconference win over Alverno College at Reiman Gymnasium.
  Seven Lawrence players scored at least six points and none of the Vikings hit double figures.

Kenya Earl paced Lawrence (5-5) with nine points and a game-high nine rebounds to go with three steals.
Maggie Culver,
Mallory Meyer,
Lydia Lueck and
Delaney Brooks all had eight points apiece for the Vikings.
Ashley Batac and
Libby Crandall both added six points for Lawrence.Â
  Culver also posted a game-high seven steals to go with six rebounds.
  Lawrence held Alverno to 34.6 percent shooting for the game, including 13.3 percent (2-15) from 3-point range. Angie Reutgen paced Alverno (1-8) with 15 points and nine rebounds.
  Alverno led in the opening quarter before Crandall drained a 3-pointer to tie the game at 10-10. Culver scored the final four points of the quarter as Lawrence went on a 10-3 run to lead 17-13 after one.
  Lawrence maintained its lead throughout the second quarter, and Batac hit a 3-pointer with 24 seconds left before halftime to give the Vikings a 28-19 lead at the break.
  Earl opened the third quarter by hitting a jumper to give the Vikings their first double-digit lead at 30-19. Lawrence's lead fluctuated in the third quarter, and Alverno had cut the margin to 32-26 before the Vikings went on an 8-2 run, capped by Earl's 3-pointer, for a 40-28 edge.Â
  The Vikings led 40-31 heading to the fourth quarter before Batac hit a 3-pointer and Meyer followed with a jumper for a 45-31 lead with 8:31 remaining. Alverno cut the margin to 10 points twice, the second time at 49-39. Lueck then drained a 3-pointer and Earl followed with a layup to give the Vikings a 54-39 edge with 2:31 remaining.
  Lawrence returns to action on Saturday when the Vikings host St. Norbert College.
