APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University men's basketball player
Kyle Lillwitz put together a hot shooting Saturday afternoon to lead the Vikings to a 78-68 nonconference victory over UW-Superior at Alexander Gymnasium.
  Lillwitz scored a career-high 20 points as he went 6-for-7 from the floor, including 4-of-5 from 3-point range, on his way to 20 points. Lillwitz also went 4-for-4 from the foul line, all in the final minute, to help seal the victory. He added two rebounds, a block and a steal.

Adnan Sarancic had his second consecutive double-double for the Vikings with 18 points and 15 rebounds, including 10 boards in the first half.
Brad Sendell added 15 points for Lawrence (5-6) and a game-high nine assists.
Brandon Danowski collected 10 points, six rebounds and six assists to round out Lawrence's contingent of double-digit scorers.
  Sarancic scored nine points in the opening half and Sendell added seven as Lawrence built a 36-29 lead at the break.
  The Vikings opened the second with a layup from Sendell and
Matthew Kaznikov drained a 3-pointer to give Lawrence a 41-29 advantage. After a Superior layup, the Vikings scored seven of the next eight points. Danowski started the short burst with a layup and Sarancic followed with another layup. Lillwitz finished the run with a 3-pointer to put Lawrence up 48-32 with 14:18 remaining.
  The Yellowjackets chipped away at the lead and cut it the advantage to 53-46 with 9:14 left. Lillwitz stopped the momentum when he drained a 3-pointer, and after a Superior layup, Kaznikov hit a triple and Lawrence led 59-48.
  Superior put together a 7-2 run to cut the lead to 61-55, but Lillwitz drained another 3-pointer to push the lead back to 64-55 with 3:45 left. Lawrence kept the Yellowjackets at arm's length, and the Vikings led 70-63 when Superior started fouling. Lillwitz hit two free throws with 1:02 left before a Xavier Patterson layup. Sendell then drained a pair of free throws before Eli Vogel hit a 3-pointer to cut the lead to 74-68 with 34 seconds left.Â
  Lillwitz then hit two more free throws with 29 seconds left, and Lawrence capped the day with a Sarancic layup with 13 seconds left for the final margin.
    Vogel led Superior (3-7) with 22 points.
  Lawrence takes a break for the Christmas holiday and heads to the Loras Classic on Dec. 29.
