Lawrence can't hold off Sabres

    FOND DU LAC, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's hockey team grabbed an early two-goal lead Saturday, but Marian University rallied for a 6-2 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association victory at the Blue Line Ice Center.
    Lawrence led 2-1 after the opening period, but the Sabres (2-5-0, 2-2-0 NCHA) scored twice in the second period to take the lead. Marian added three power-play goals in the third to seal the win.
    The Vikings got on the board with a power-play goal of their own late in the first period. After McKenna Krosch was sent off for hooking, Lauren Moravchik scored her first career goal with assists from Delaney Kingsland and Lauren Askenazy at the 17:39 mark.
    Lawrence quickly made the score 2-0 when the Vikings scored just 1:11 later. Askenazy collected her fourth goal of the season with assists going to Laney Martens and Moravchik. Marian trimmed the lead to 2-1 with a goal with 32 seconds left in the first period.
    Marian tied the game at 2-2 on Hannah Cunha's power-play goal at the 12:24 mark of the second, and the Sabres took the lead with a short-handed goal from Krosch at 18:31.
    Marian then scored three times on the power play, including twice in the first 5:01, in the third period. Marian went 4-for-5 on the power play, and the Vikings were 1-for-7. 
    Lawrence goaltender Katie Jablynski made 47 saves for the Vikings, and Lindsay Lewison stopped 24 shots for Marian.
