APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's soccer team posted a 2-0 nonconference win over Marian University on Wednesday night on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.
  Lawrence (3-1-0) got a pair of first-half goals and controlled the play in the second half en route to the victory over Marian (0-2-1).

Sarah Yochem recorded five saves, including a spectacular leaping stop in the first half, to record the shutout for the Vikings. Amy Briner made eight saves for Marian.
  Lawrence got on the board at the 11:29 mark as the Vikings attacked down the left side of the field.

Natalie Linebarger, who fed fellow rookie
Aria Djamali. Djamali's shot found the back of the net for her first collegiate tally and a 1-0 lead.
  The Vikings quickly made it 2-0 at the 13:45 when Linebarger's cross connected with
Madi Jones, who converted for her second goal of the season and a 2-0 lead.
  Lawrence put together an 18-10 edge in shots, including a 10-5 advantage in shots on goal. Lawrence snapped a four-match losing skid in the series, and the young Vikings squad notched its first win over Marian since 2007.
  The Vikings return to action on Thursday night when they host Finlandia University in a nonconference match at the Banta Bowl.
