RIPON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's basketball team dropped a 64-41 Midwest Conference decision to Ripon College on Wednesday at Weiske Gymnasium.
  Ripon jumped out to an early lead late in the first quarter, and the Vikings were never able to make a serious run at the Red Hawks.

Kenya Earl and
Delaney Brooks paced the Vikings (5-8, 2-3 MWC) with 12 points apiece. Earl pushed her career total to 1,477 points and is now just 11 points shy of breaking Claire Getzoff's career scoring record of 1,487. Earl also added a team-high seven rebounds to go with two steals and a block.Â
  Brooks hit a pair of 3-pointers on her way to 12 points and collected a team-best three assists.
  Skyylar Brescia led Ripon (7-8, 6-0) with 15 points and nine rebounds.
  Ripon hit a jumper in the final seconds of the first quarter to push its lead to double digits at 22-11 heading to the second quarter. The Red Hawks then opened the second quarter with an 11-4 run to grab a 33-15 advantage. Ripon led 37-23 at the break.
  Lawrence never got closer than 14 points in the second half.
  The Vikings return to action at Alexander Gymnasium on Saturday when they host Grinnell College in a game that had been postponed earlier in January.
