APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's hockey team got back on the ice for the first time in almost three weeks, and the Vikings dropped an 8-0 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association decision to Adrian College.
This game was postponed two weeks ago, and the site of the game was swapped to Appleton as part of a three-game set for both teams. Lawrence will face Marian University on Friday and Saturday, and Adrian travels to Finlandia University for games the next two days.
Lawrence hadn't played since a nonconference game on Jan. 1.
Adrian (8-5-1, 5-0-0 NCHA) jumped on the Vikings early and scored just 2:54 into the game. The Bulldogs added another goal midway through the period and then picked up a third score late in the period and led 3-0 after one.
The Bulldogs then scored three times in the first 10:49 of the second period. Lawrence (0-12-0, 0-5-0) held the Bulldogs scoreless for a stretch of 19:45 before they scored two times in the middle of the third period to close out the scoring.
Brooke Schembri, Kaleigh Cadorette and Sydney Daversa had two goals apiece for Adrian.
 Â
Charlie Prior made the start in goal for Lawrence and picked up 36 saves in the first 30:49.
Maeve Tallman stopped 29 shots in the final 29:11 for Lawrence. Denisa Jandova made seven saves to get the shutout.
Lawrence is back on the ice quickly and faces Marian in a rare Friday afternoon game at the Appleton Ice Center.
