HANCOCK, Mich. -- The Lawrence University women's hockey team lost a tough 2-1 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association decision to Finlandia University on Saturday night at Houghton County Arena.
  The Vikings led after the first period, but Finlandia picked up a goal in the second period and another in the third to pull out the win.

Delaney Kingsland got Lawrence (0-16-0, 0-9-0 NCHA) on the board midway through the first period. Kingsland scored at the 10:43 mark with assists from
Lizzy Jorgensen and
Maggie MacNeil for a 1-0 lead.
  The score stayed that way until the 2:42 mark of the second period when Aleah Giddings scored for Finlandia to tie the game at 1-1. The teams remained deadlocked until Finlandia went on the power play early in the third period. Michaela Powers scored on the power play at the 4:17 mark to put the Lions up 2-1.
  Finlandia was 1-for-7 on the power play, and the Vikings were 0-for-5.
  Finlandia withstood pressure from the Vikings, including an extra attacker for 55 seconds late in the contest, to hang on for the win.
    Kayla Savoie-Penton made 20 saves for Finlandia (2-14-1, 2-7-0), and
Maeve Tallman stopped 31 shots for the Vikings.
