LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The Lawrence University women's hockey team hung with Lake Forest College for nearly two periods Friday before the Foresters pulled away for a 6-0 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association victory at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.
Lawrence kept the Foresters off the board until the 13:44 mark of the second period. It looked like it might stay that way through two periods until Lake Forest struck for two goals in the final 30 seconds of the second to build a cushion.
Lake Forest (8-7-0, 8-1-0 NCHA) then added three goals in the first 7:08 of the third to pull away.
The Foresters went 3-for-4 on the power play, and Lawrence (0-17-0, 0-10-0) was 0-for-3.
 Â
Maeve Tallman made 54 saves for the Vikings, and Hannah Turnage stopped 12 shots for the Foresters.Â
The teams wrap up the series on Saturday in Appleton.
