APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawernce University men's soccer team battled to a 0-0 tie with Wisconsin Lutheran College in a nonconference game Sunday on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.
  Both teams had good scoring chances, but neither one could find the back of the net.
  Wisconsin Lutheran had a 19-13 edge in shots, but Lawrence out-shot the Warriors 10-9 in the second half. Lawrence goalkeeper
Ethan Uribe made eight saves, and Puma Galvan had seven saves for the Warriors.
  The best scoring chance in the first half came from Wisconsin Lutheran when KJ McNealey hit the crossbar. Lawrence had the better scoring chances in the second half when Galvan had to make a pair of point-blank saves.
  Lawrence had a pair of quality chances in the final minute.
Mark Todd's bending free kick from about 25 yards was saved by Galvan, but the Vikings got a corner kick on the play. Todd sent the corner kick toward the goal, and
Konstantinos Fardellas' shot was saved by Galvan in the final 30 seconds.
  Lawrence returns to Midwest Conference play with a game at Knox College on Oct. 8.
