    MONMOUTH, Ill. -- The Lawrence University men's soccer team finished its season Saturday with a 2-1 Midwest Conference loss at Monmouth College.
    The Vikings scored first, but Monmouth scored late in the first half and early in the second half and hung onto that lead.
    Konstantinos Fardellas struck for the Vikings in the 13th minute to give Lawrence the early lead. He took a pass from Guillermo Blanco Angulo and scored at the 12:52 mark for his seventh goal of the season.
    Beloit tied it up on Nicolas Esperon's goal at 39:19, and the Bucs took the lead for good with Montgomery Schroeder's goal at 47:05.
    Lawrence goalkeeper Ethan Uribe made four saves, and Beloit's Dennis Turdean made nine saves. Lawrence had a 13-11 edge in shots for the match.
