APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's basketball team broke the game open early Saturday and rolled to an 84-50 nonconference victory over Northland College at Alexander Gymnasium.
  The Vikings used a balanced attack and good defense to cruise to the victory.
  Rookie
Arnav Jain came off the bench to lead Lawrence with 13 points, and fellow first-year players
Ryne Panzer and
Nicolas Manzanera scored 11 points apiece.
Adnan Sarancic added nine points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals for the Vikings.

Parker Prahl added eight points, a game-high six assists and three rebounds for the Vikings, and
Elliot Jung had eight points, four rebounds and three assists.
Daryian Matthews grabbed a game-high six rebounds to go with six points for Lawrence (2-3).
  Northland led 10-9 before the Vikings really got rolling. Lawrence went on an 18-2 run to turn that one-point deficit into a 27-12 lead with 10:00 remaining in the opening half. Prahl scored six points in the outburst on a pair of 3-pointers, and Panzer scored the first five points of the run.Â
  The Vikings led by as many as 17 points in the first half before settling for a 39-26 lead at the break.Â
  After Northland got the opening basket of the second half, the Vikings rattled off 14 consecutive points to grab a 53-28 lead with 11:29 left. Panzer hit a pair of 3-pointers during the run, and Matthews finished it with a layup for a 25-point advantage.
  Lawrence continued to press its advantage and pushed the lead to 32 on Jung's 3-pointer with 5:44 remaining. The Vikings' biggest lead was 36 in the final minute of the contest.
  The Lawrence defense limited Northland to just 9-of-28 shooting (32.1 percent) in the second half and 35.2 percent for the game. Lawrence also forced 17 Northland turnovers.
  Drew Lindberg scored a game-high 15 points for Northland (1-4).
