ANGOLA, Ind. -- Too many turnovers and too few 3-pointers proved to be the difference Sunday as the Lawrence University men's basketball team fell 71-56 to Trine University in a nonconference game.
The game was part of the St. Andrews Products Classic at the MTI Center.
Lawrence committed 19 turnovers, and Trine converted those miscues into 29 points. The Vikings shot 44.2 percent for the game, but hit on just 25 percent (3-12) of their shots from beyond the arc.Â
   Â
Adnan Sarancic led Lawrence with 13 points and added seven rebounds. Rookie
Parker Prahl notched his first career double-double for the Vikings with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Prahl also had two assists and two steals.Â
 Â
Johnny Semany added 11 points and four rebounds, and
Matthew Kaznikov had eight points for the Vikings (5-8).
The game was tight throughout the first half, and Trine got the last basket of the half to take a 31-27 lead at the break.
 Â
Elliot Jung's layup started the second half for the Vikings to cut the lead 31-29, and Kaznikov drained a 3-pointer with 16:59 left to again trim the margin to two at 36-34. That's as close as the Vikings would get.
Over the next 4:40, Trine built the lead to 46-36, and Lawrence never got closer than seven points the rest of the way.
Connor Jones paced Trine (9-1) with 24 points.
Lawrence does not return to action until it travels to Monmouth College on Jan. 2.
