GENEVA, Ill. -- The Lawrence University women's hockey team dropped an 11-1 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association decision to No. 12 Aurora University on Saturday at Fox Valley Ice Arena.
  The Spartans led 4-1 after the opening period and pushed the lead to 8-1 after two periods. Aurora (9-1-1, 5-0-1 NCHA) added three more goals in the final period.
  Aurora was up after scoring three goals in the opening 4:22 of the game before the Vikings (1-10-0, 0-4-0) got on the board.
Laney Martens scored for Lawrence off assists from
Maddie Donati and
Delaney Kingsland to cut the lead to 3-1.

Sydney Seeley started in goal for the Vikings but gave way to
Charlie Prior after the first three goals. Prior made 39 saves in relief. Shelbi Duster made 15 saves for Aurora.
  Lawrence returns to action next weekend with a nonconference series against Saint Mary's (Minn.) University.Â
