GALESBURG, Ill. -- The Lawrence University women's basketball team rallied in the fourth quarter Wednesday but came up just short in a 65-58 MIdwest Conference loss to Knox College at Memorial Gymnasium.
  Lawrence trailed by double digits in the second half but trimmed the lead to just three points late before Knox held on for the win.

Mallory Meyer led four Lawrence players in double digits with a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Lydia Lueck came off the bench for the Vikings to score 11 points and pick up three assists.
Emma Carlson added 10 points on 5-for-7 shooting and collected eight rebounds for Lawrence (3-5, 2-1 MWC) while
Delaney Brooks had 10 points and four assists.
  Lawrence built an early double-digit lead at 17-7 and pushed the advantage to 14 points twice, the last time at 23-9 early in the second quarter. Knox rallied in the second and posted a 35-33 lead at the half.
  Knox quickly pushed the lead to 43-33 in the third quarter and still lead by nine before
Ashley Batac's jumper in the final seconds of the period cut the lead to 52-45 heading to the fourth.
  Lawrence opened the fourth quarter on an 8-3 run, capped by Brooks' 3-pointer, to cut the margin to 55-53 with 5:51 remaining in the contest. Knox pushed the lead back to 60-53, but Carlson answered with a layup for the Vikings. Lueck then converted one free throw to cut the lead to 60-56 with 1:44 left. She missed the second free throw, but Meyer grabbed the offensive rebound.Â
  Lawrence missed a jumper and a 3-pointer on the ensuing possession, and the Vikings were forced to foul. The teams traded free throws with Brooks making a pair for the Vikings to cut the margin to 61-58 with 14 seconds left. Knox then made four consecutive free throws to close out the win.
  Kristin Herndon paced Knox (5-2, 2-0) with 14 points and 14 rebounds.
  Lawrence returns to Midwest Conference play on Saturday when the Vikings host Illinois College.
