PEORIA, Ill. -- The Lawrence University softball team jumped out to an early lead Friday against Edgewood College, but the Eagles rallied for an 11-2 nonconference victory at the Louisville Slugger Sports Complex.

Mikayla Jeneske led the Lawrence offense by going 2-for-3 with a double.Â
  Lawrence grabbed the early advantage with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning. Jeneske started the rally with a single, and the Vikings loaded the bases when
Mattigan Haller was hit by a pitch and
Jordan Wallin-Swanson reached on an error.Â

Mallory Meyer followed with a single to score Jeneske, and
Taylor Hughes drew a bases-loaded walk to give the Vikings a 2-0 edge.
  Edgewood struck for four runs in the top of the second to take the lead back. The Eagles added a run in the fourth and then broke the game open with six runs in the seventh.
  Grace Pustina went the distance for Edgewood to pick up the win. He allowed six hits, struck out six and walked two. Meyer went four innings and took the loss.
