CLERMONT, Fla. -- A pair of big innings Friday was the difference as the Lawrence University softball team lost 14-1 in five innings to North Park University in a nonconference game.
North Park scored five runs in the second inning to pull ahead and then tallied nine times in the fourth to put the game away.
Lawrence was limited to three hits, a double by
Xiomara Rueda-Marshall and singles from
Taylor Hughes and
Mary Boyle. Rueda-Marshall went the distance and allowed nine earned runs on 14 hits.Â
Rachael Feazelle got the win, striking out four and walking none, over five innings.
Lawrence got its lone run in the first when Rueda-Marshall doubled, went to third on a wild pitch and later stole home.
