Lawrence stopped by Bantams

CLERMONT, Fla. -- The Lawrence University softball team fell 12-1 to Trinity (Conn.) College in a nonconference game on Tuesday.
Trinity broke open a scoreless game with eight runs in the third inning and closed the contest out with four runs in the fifth inning.
The Bantams' 15-hit attack backed the pitching of Jordan Stephen, who allowed four hits over five innings to get the victory.
Lawrence's lone run came in the fourth when the Vikings loaded the bases with the help of singles from Xiomara Rueda-Marshall, Jordan Wallin-Swanson and Mikayla Jeneske. Mattigan Haller, who had reached on a fielder's choice, came home to score on Chapin Grumhaus' sacrifice fly.
Rueda-Marshall made the start for the Vikings and took the loss.
