ROSEMONT, Ill. -- The Lawrence University softball team dropped a pair of nonconference games on Sunday to the University of Chicago.Â
  The Maroons topped Lawrence 8-0 and 10-1, both in five innings, at the Dome at Parkway Bank Sports Complex.
  In the opener, Lawrence was limited to just one hit by Chicago pitcher Paige Heffke, who struck out 10 and walked two in five innings. Lawrence's hit was a second-inning single by
Shelby Johnson.
  The Maroons scored in each inning, including three runs in the fourth and one in the fifth to close out the win.
  In the second game, the Vikings were tied 1-1 heading to the fourth inning.Â
  Lawrence trailed 1-0 when
Jordan Wallin-Swanson led off the inning with a double.
Xiomara Rueda-Marshall followed with a double to score Wallin-Swanson and the game was tied.
  Rueda-Marshall, Wallin-Swanson and
Khayla Santiago all had hits in the game for the Vikings.
  Chicago broke the game open in the top of the fourth when the Maroons scored six times. Chicago added three more runs in the fifth to seal the win. Lawrence pitchers were victimized by five errors as only two of Chicago's 10 runs were earned.
  The Vikings are off until March 18 when they begin play on their spring break trip to Clermont, Fla.
