LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The Lawrence University women's soccer team saw its season come to an end Friday with a disappointing 1-0 loss to Grinnell College in the semifinals of the Midwest Conference Tournament at Farwell Field.
  Lawrence posted a 16-5 advantage in shots for the match, including an 8-3 edge in shots on goal. The Vikings also controlled the possession, owning a 55-45 percent advantage for the contest.
  The only goal of the match came in the 28th minute when Tali Berk played the ball into the box. Rama Joshi was able to get in front of the Lawrence defender and redirected the ball past goalkeeper
Audri Klionsky, who had come off her line to break up the play. Joshi's second goal of the season came at the 27:44 mark.Â
  The Vikings had several good scoring chances later in the first half.
Kylie Grimes' shot was cleared off the line by a Grinnell defender, and
Kylie Melonis had a solid shot that was saved by Grinnell goalkeeper Peyton Dixon.
Hannah Kalt got off a header in the final seconds of the half that was just wide.
  Lawrence forced Dixon to make three more saves in the second half and kept the pressure on the Pioneers throughout. In the final minute, Grinnell was able to clear the ball away twice as Lawrence pressed all of its players forward.Â

Lucia Pierce-Haig finished with a team-high three shots for the Vikings, and Kalt, Grimes, Melonis,Â
Cambrie Rickard and
Ava Elders had two shots apiece.
  Klionsky made two saves for the Vikings, and Dixon had seven saves for Grinnell.
  The Vikings finished the season with a 6-6-4 record on the season, and Grinnell improved to 10-3-5.
  This was Lawrence's second trip to the conference tournament in the past three seasons. The Vikings also fell in the semifinals in 2021.
