JACKSONVILLE, Ill. -- A slow start Saturday doomed the Lawrence University women's basketball team in a 69-36 Midwest Conference loss to Illinois College at Sherman Gymnasium.
  The Vikings scored just two points in the opening 10 minutes and trailed by 15 heading to the second quarter. Lawrence closed to 13 points in the third quarter but could pull no closer.

Sophie Morey came off the bench to lead Lawrence (7-18, 3-13) with 11 points, and she added a team-best eight rebounds. Morey went 4-for-6 from the floor and picked up a block and an assist.
Mallory Meyer added eight points, and
Libby Crandall had seven for the Vikings.
  Lakeida Nichols paced Illinois College (11-14, 8-8) with 15 points and 12 rebounds.
