ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Lawrence University women's hockey team lost 10-0 Friday to No. 5 Adrian College in the opening game of the Northern College Hockey Association quarterfinal playoff series at Arrington Ice Arena.
  Adrian (23-3-0) led 2-0 after the opening period but broke the game open with six goals in the second. The Bulldogs added two more goals in the third for the final margin.
  The game was scoreless more than halfway through the opening period when Adrian scored twice in a span of 1:16 to pull ahead. The Bulldogs then scored four goals in the first 6:16 of the second period to pull away.
  Sophie Goldberg made nine saves to pick up the shutout for Adrian.
Charlie Prior played the first 26:16 for the Vikings and made 16 saves.
Chasity Anderson came on in relief and made 39 saves over the final 33:44.
  Adrian only needs a tie on Saturday to advance to the Slaats Cup semifinals. The Vikings need a win on Saturday to force a decisive mini-game. The puck drops at 3 p.m. Eastern time on Saturday.
