RIPON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University softball team took a pair of tough losses in a MIdwest Conference doubleheader at Ripon College on Friday.

Lawrence (5-29, 1-11 MWC) was limited to six hits in the opener, but had scratched out a 4-1 lead through five innings. The Vikings got an unearned run in the first and another unearned run in the third. Lawrence tacked on two runs in the fifth on
Gillian Guerriero's two-run double for a three-run lead.
Ripon (12-20, 4-8) scored twice in the sixth and once in the seventh to tie it at 4-4. A pair of doubles plated the winning run in the ninth for the Red Hawks.

Lizzy Angemi worked the final three-plus innings and allowed two runs on five hits and three walks to take the loss.
  In the second game,
Mattigan Haller went 2-for-4 with two runs batted in, and

Jordan Wallin-Swanson's RBI single in the fifth.Â
The Vikings then rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh. A pair of errors put Guerriero and
Kourtney Mercer on base, and Wallin-Swanson delivered a sacrifice fly to score Guerriero for a 3-2 lead. The bases were later loaded when Haller smacked a two-out, two-run single to score
Adrie Villa and Boyle for a 5-2 edge.
Ripon then scored four runs on three hits and two Lawrence errors to win the game in the bottom half of the inning.
