Vikings can't get offense going against Lake Forest

    APPLETON, WIs. -- The Lawrence University women's hockey team couldn't get its offense cranked up on Friday and dropped a 3-0 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association decision to Lake Forest College at the Champion Center.
    The Foresters scored once in each period and limited Lawrence to just 18 shots.
    Lake Forest (2-2-1, 1-1-1 NCHA) broke a scoreless tie on Macy Gehrke's power-play goal at the 8:50 mark of the first. Lake Forest was 1-for-3 on the power play and Lawrence was 0-for-3.
    Lily Anderson made it 2-0 at the 9:21 mark of the second, and the Foresters added an empty net goal from Jasmine Kohl with 2:11 remaining in the game.
    Angie Lombardi recorded 18 saves for the shutout, and Ella Sciborski stopped 25 shots for the Vikings (1-4-0, 1-2-0).
    The teams wrap up the series on Saturday at Lake Forest.
