ASHLAND, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's hockey team grabbed the lead early on Saturday and went on to a 3-1 nonconference victory over Northland College at the Bay Area Civic Center.

Lauren Moravchik had a goal and an assist to pace the Vikings, who swept the weekend series after posting a 4-2 victory on Friday night.

Lauren Askenazy got Lawrence (3-6-1) on the board early in the second period. She scored off assists from
Beth McArthur and
Kate Holtz at the 4:10 mark for a 1-0 edge.
  It didn't take Lawrence long to double that lead when
Emma Perry scored at the 7:12 mark off an assist from a Moravchek for a 2-0 advantage.
  Moravchik then sealed the victory with an unassisted goal at the 14:41 mark of the third period for a 3-0 lead. Northland's lone goal came with just 33 seconds left in the contest on the power play.
  Lawrence goaltender
Ella Sciborski made 28 saves to pick up the victory. Maddy Bliss stopped 28 shots for Northland (0-7-0). Lawrence had a 31-29 edge in shots on goal.
