Lawrence grabs OT victory over Raiders

APPLETON, Wis. -- Beth McArthur's penalty shot in overtime lifted the Lawrence University women's hockey team to a 2-1 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association victory over MSOE on Saturday at the Champion Center.
It was the first win for new Lawrence head coach Greg Moore with the Vikings.
The game went to overtime, but Lawrence (1-3-0, 1-1-0 NCHA) drew a penalty shot when Aislinn O'Hagan was dragged down by one of the MSOE defenders.
McArthur went top shelf to beat MSOE goaltender Laura Melizza 23 seconds into the overtime and deliver the victory.
Lawrence trailed 1-0 after MSOE's Lilo Emerson scored midway through the opening period, but the Vikings tied it up in the second. O'Hagan scored at the 8:37 mark of the second to tie it at 1-1 and it stayed that way until the end of regulation.
Lawrence goaltender Ella Sciborski made 23 saves to pick up her first collegiate victory. Melizza made 14 saves for the Raiders (2-2-0, 1-1-0).
