Vikings shut out Marian in regular-season finale

APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's hockey team jumped on Marian University early Saturday and never let up in a 4-0 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association victory at the Champion Center.
Lawrence scored five minutes into the game, tacked on a third-period goal and sealed the victory late. The Vikings clinched a berth in the NCHA Slaats Cup playoffs and will travel to top-seed Adrian College for a quarterfinal series next weekend.
The Vikings (4-20-1, 3-13-0 NCHA) got a pair of goals from Elsie Salerno, and Evelyn Pryadkin and Lauren Moravchik picked up two assists apiece.
Lawrence grabbed the lead at the 5:10 mark of the opening period when Salerno scored off a pass from Moravchik for a 1-0 advantage.
The score stayed that way until later in the third period. After Marian's Jadyn Gorski got sent off for high sticking at the 12:18 mark, the Vikings cashed in on the power play. Salerno scored off assists from Emma Perry and Moravchik for a 2-0 lead at the 13:25 mark.
Lawrence sealed the win when Delaney Kingsland scored an empty-netter off an assist by Pryadkin with 2:23 remaining. Lawrence made it 4-0 when Laney Martens scored another empty-net goal off a pass from Pryadkin with 1:46 remaining.
Sarah Dobrzynski picked up her second shutout of the season for the Vikings. She stopped all 26 shots she faced. Kayla Kolpitcke made 23 saves for Marian (8-15-1, 6-10-1).
