APPLETON, Wis. -- In a bit of a repeat from the first game of the series, the Lawrence University women's hockey team dropped a 4-0 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association decision to Trine University on Saturday at the Champion Center.
Lawrence dominated long stretches of Friday's game but lost a 2-0 decision. The Vikings did the same thing on Saturday afternoon, but found themselves staring at a 1-0 deficit after Trine's Grace Hicks scored a power-play goal at the 11:16 mark of the first. Trine had scored on the power play midway through the first period on Friday as well.
Trine's Payton Hans added an unassisted goal early in the second, and the Thunder scored two more times early in the third to seal the victory.Â
Lawrence (3-19-1, 2-12-0 NCHA) had a 31-21 advantage in shots, but the Vikings came up 0-for-6 on the power play.
Trine (6-16-1, 2-11-1) goaltender Ella Park recorded 31 saves for her second consecutive shutout.
Sarah Dobrzynski made 17 saves for the Vikings.
